Veterans Vision Access

Assistive technology that opens up daily life for veterans with vision loss.

The I Am Human Foundation is proud to provide smart glasses to blind and severely vision-impaired veterans, along with the training and support to make them part of everyday life.

About the Program

Veterans who have given so much deserve every tool that helps them live independently. Through a special initiative, the I Am Human Foundation is distributing 100 pairs of AI-powered smart glasses to blind and severely vision-impaired veterans at no cost.

This program is led by people who understand vision loss firsthand. Our Executive Director is a U.S. military veteran living with significant vision loss, and his experience guides how we select, support, and stand beside every veteran we serve. We do not just hand over a device. We walk with each recipient, so the technology becomes a real part of daily life.

What the Glasses Do

These smart glasses use built-in cameras, audio, and voice assistance to help with everyday tasks. For a person with vision loss, that can mean:

Hands-free assistance. Ask questions and get spoken answers without needing a screen.

Help reading and identifying. Support with reading text and recognizing surroundings through audio feedback.

Voice commands. Control the device by speaking, no fine visual navigation required.

Everyday independence. Support for tasks that are harder with limited vision, woven into a familiar pair of glasses.

Who Qualifies

Veterans Vision Access is designed for:

Blind or severely vision-impaired individuals whose daily life is affected by significant vision loss.

Trans and gender-expansive veterans and veterans with limited income and limited access to assistive technology are prioritized, so that this reaches those who need it most.
