Alex Santiago is the Founder of I Am Human Foundation and serves as Vice President of Development. He brings more than a decade of experience in LGBTQ+ community education, transgender wellness programming, and organizational development for trans and gender nonconforming communities.

In his development role, Alex leads fundraising, grant strategy, and strategic partnerships, building the resources that fuel the foundation’s programs. He is a published author and consultant whose work spans community education, sensitivity training, and wellness program design.

Alex serves as an inaugural member of the Morehouse School of Medicine Satcher Health Leadership Institute HIV Equity Task Force and sits on the City of Atlanta Mayor’s HIV Task Force, contributing to policy, equity, and systems-level work that shapes how HIV is addressed in Atlanta and across the region.

He founded I Am Human to create the kind of organization he wished existed when he was coming up. His commitment is to Black and brown LGBTQ+ communities, and his work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and free.
