Rooted Wealth

Rooted Wealth helps the people we serve build the knowledge, habits, and confidence to take control of their money and their future, on their own terms.

For many people in our community, financial systems were never built with them in mind. Barriers to stable employment, housing, and credit are real, and they compound over time. Rooted Wealth meets people where they are, without judgment, and offers practical tools to move forward.

This is not a lecture on budgeting. It is a supportive space where participants learn how money actually works, set goals that matter to them, and get one-on-one guidance from people who understand the specific realities they navigate. Whether someone is opening a first bank account, rebuilding credit, or planning for something bigger, Rooted Wealth walks alongside them.

Financial Foundations Workshops. Small-group sessions covering budgeting, banking, credit, debt, and saving, taught in plain language.

One-on-One Coaching. Private, judgment-free sessions where participants build a personal plan at their own pace.

Credit and Debt Support. Guidance on understanding credit reports, disputing errors, and building or repairing credit over time.

Investing Basics. A beginner-friendly class on how investing works, from index funds to retirement accounts, in plain language.

Money Moves Cohort. Our flagship wealth-building program for underserved youth, featured below.

Money Moves is a wealth-building program that goes beyond financial education. Participants leave not just with knowledge, but with real accounts, real savings, and a real start toward long-term investing. We believe the young people we serve deserve more than survival. They deserve a foundation to build on.

Over 8 to 12 weeks, participants complete a full financial education journey paired with one-on-one coaching and a matched completion award that turns learning into lasting assets.

Financial Education. Participants complete 8 to 12 weeks of hands-on learning covering budgeting, taxes, credit, investing, retirement, and entrepreneurship.

Real Accounts. Every participant opens both a checking account and an investment account, putting the tools of wealth-building directly in their hands.

One-on-One Coaching. Participants work individually with a coach to set personal goals and build a plan that fits their life.

A $1,000 Completion Award. Participants who complete the program receive a $1,000 award designed to build wealth, not just cover a moment:

• $500 deposited into a checking or savings account as emergency savings.
• $500 deposited into an investment account, such as Fidelity Youth, Charles Schwab, Vanguard, or another approved brokerage, to begin long-term investing.

Cash assistance helps someone get through a hard month. Money Moves helps someone build a future. By pairing education with real accounts and a matched investment, we help young people take their first steps toward generational wealth, the kind that traditional financial systems have too often kept out of reach.

Money Moves provides financial education, not financial advice. Our goal is to give participants the knowledge, confidence, and starting assets to make their own informed decisions.

Rooted Wealth is designed for the communities the I Am Human Foundation serves, including young people stepping into independence and anyone rebuilding after instability. If you have ever felt talked down to or shut out by traditional financial education, this program was built with you in mind.

We believe financial literacy is a form of self-determination. When people understand their money, they gain options, and options are power.

Every part of Rooted Wealth is peer-informed and rooted in dignity. We do not assume anyone is behind or broken. We start from what people already know, add practical tools, and build from there. Progress is measured in confidence and real-world wins, not test scores.
