Our Programs

Our Programs

The I Am Human Foundation runs a comprehensive portfolio of programs serving LGBTQ+ communities of color across health, wellness, workforce development, youth services, trans community work, civic engagement, and harm reduction. Our work is organized into six focus areas, each with its own set of programs designed to meet a specific set of community needs.

Click into any focus area below to see the full range of work happening within that program area, who it serves, and how to get involved.

Our Focus Areas

Health and Wellness — Sexual health, cancer care, mental wellness, movement, healing after harm, and community programming. From HIV navigation to yoga, our health and wellness work treats our communities as whole people deserving of whole-person care.

Workforce Development — Career pathways into health, human services, and community-rooted careers for adults pushed to the margins of the labor market. Includes initiatives for trans veterans, youth, and seniors.

Youth Programs — Affirming spaces where LGBTQ+ youth of color heal, lead, and build their futures. From peer support to crisis intervention to job readiness, we walk alongside young people through every step of growing up.

Trans and GNC Services — Direct services, community building, and advocacy work for trans and gender nonconforming community members. Trans Connect, name and gender marker navigation, affirming healthcare, and more. Built by and for trans community.

Civic Engagement — Nonpartisan voter registration, civic education, and policy advocacy. We trust our community to decide for themselves, the way they always have, and we make sure they have what they need to participate.

Harm Reduction — Naloxone distribution, fentanyl test strips, safer sex supplies, hormone safety education, and crisis response. We meet people where they are, without judgment, without conditions.
