Peer-led HIV navigation built by and for Black and brown men

Men Like Us

Men Like Us is a peer navigation program designed to close the gap between Black and brown men and the HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services they need. We do this through peer navigators who share lived experience with the men they serve, and who walk alongside them through every step of the care pathway.

The men in our communities are not falling through the cracks. The cracks were built that way. Men Like Us was created to fill them in.

What We Provide

  • One-on-one peer navigation from intake through linkage to care
  • HIV and STI testing
  • PrEP education and access support, including help with insurance and patient assistance programs
  • Treatment adherence support for men living with HIV
  • Mental health and substance use referrals through trusted partners
  • Support groups led by men who understand the work from the inside

Who We Serve

Black and brown men, including trans men and gender expansive people who connect with masculine experience. Men who have been turned away or talked down to in clinical settings. Men who do not see themselves in the brochures. Men who deserve more than a phone number and a referral.

Why It Matters

Black and brown men are still being failed by a healthcare system that was not built with us in mind. Men Like Us was created to change that, one navigator and one man at a time. This is not outreach. This is community taking care of itself.

How to Connect
